  1. I also appreciate that he has an actual face, a lot of breeds right now are going through a phase of breeding very exaggerated features even moreso than before, like flat faced chows or mastiff looking rottweilers.

I think this video reinforces the important point (I am not judging the owners of this dog, general point) that just because an angry dog can be restrained when mad, doesn't mean it shouldn't be trained well. Far too often people don't train small dogs enough because if the dog gets annoyed or aggressive it can be shrugged off, just pushed aside or people go "haha funny" meanwhile any single ounce of aggression in a large dog is cause for concern hence there's a much larger emphasis on training for larger breeds. But if not for your safety then for the dogs own happiness as well, socialization, studying the breed and thorough training are still important, even for smaller breeds that can be physically controlled once aggressive. Because an aggressive dog is often a scared or frustrated dog.
