It's probably counted as some ryanair ticket from gatwick or something

This is wendover productions not CGP Grey ;)

It's not Musk's fault but why are people so keen on going to space when it would be so much easier just to fix our planet
19
Bluemeannie He said a town of 9000, 30 miles from the capital. Meaning the town has a population of 9k and is 30 miles away.

"Like it or not my theories are correct and english is the only true correct language" -CGP Grey in a nutshell
11
They're not physical was the point

Sure but let's say you're going through a tough time with school and just as you're about to drop out your friend helps you and you graduate. You're still the one who graduated, not the one who helped you, even if they helped you graduate.

The EU is more of a mini UN than a country
5
Both come from additional tropical storms, natural fires, floods, and the diseases and environmental damage they cause. It's basically a chain reaction. 250k is a tiny amount of people. People can argue on and on about what causes climate change but it definitely is happening (oh cause just as a coincidence snowy areas 15 years ago nowadays have rain in the winter instead) be it human caused or not.
5
Citizens of an individual country. If people think they're also european they don't think of it as "a citizen of the EU" just a citizen of europe in general as the european continent.
4
The US was active in ww2, yes but how the hell did the US win ww1 when they joined the last second and mostly just sent supplies to their allies.
4
It's a similiar reason to why a Prius is worse for the environment than a V6. The materials/processes used to make the batteries/solar panels are horridly toxic to the environment.
4
The nature of the earth is to change, and let's say our climate situation is caused by us, after we're extinct it'll reset and even out. Let's say it's all natural, we're supposed to die out. It's mass extinction time. The thing is that people are obviously human-centric and therefore want to self-preserve.

kristijan ahcin The irony is strong

Augustus Ray >Extreme power over the whole nation >Like the EU commisioners Whatever you're smoking please give me some
3
jayjay2016 Yeah but US states lack national identity and sovereignty
2
Augustus Ray Yes, the USA, but not for example "ohio"
2
Taxi trips to the airport cost so much, parking is terrifyingly expensive, buses aren't popular. Our main airport's solution was build a railroad underneath the airport that goes to the capital and the surrounding suburbs, it's cheap and fast.
2
"it" what "it" there's no "it" Does the EU have a conscience in your mind or something?
2
Hi CGP Grey! I just saw CGP Grey gurl
2
The EU is a superficial safety net for a sense of unity.
2
The US is absolutely fucked, there's nothing more that can go wrong anymore, more autonomy to the states the better.
2
After this situation I see no reason for anyone to ever trust the FAA again under any current staff, and I assume my opinion is shared by regulators across the world.
2
Rubsi streetcars have exclusive lanes where possible, meaning they can go past traffic part/most of the time.
2
So in other words the north pole isn't as much of a worry as the south pole
1
....how?
1
jur4x The trains just go 24h here, so don't know that feel.
1
Does Alaska have a national identity?
1
Im not sure if low population density is a good excuse I live in a country with a much lower population density than the US and the trains still go everywhere. (although they are slower than the trains in the rest of europe)
1
For china and such economic giants yeah since they dont have to worry about drowning or hurricanes, only cancer (but hey who wants to live past 60 anyway)
1
@Willam Dickinson I mean I specifically clarified that I was not complaining about Musk but rather people's general attitude but okay
1
To be frank at least some blame can be based on airlines using almost all of their free cash on stock buybacks. The same airlines are now asking for bailouts.
1
Short answer: By selling 0,5l bottled water for 5€
1
@obivan22431 yeah energy *imports*, that doesn't mean 64% of all energy used is imported. A maximum of 30% of Finnish energy is reliant on Russia at all times, and that's a maximum.
1
+obivan22431 It isnt huge when you consider the energy surplus finland has. its a very very very wasteful country.
1
And ruin the ocean instead? Nature is a cycle, that material would end up in some bacteria, to some plankton, to some fish, to bigger fish and then it would be at our feet once again, but now spread out everywhere.
1
Tbh fuck any place that has political climate heated enough to have a riot
1
There's way too much waste, it would be so unbelievably expensive to design and make all those rockets, and where would we send them in space? We can't just put them "in space" because there's a risk it would eventually crash back on earth unless we get it into another planet, but then we would ruin that planet.
1
We don't want to ruin other planets either, plus if we wanted to send it somewhere specific (which we would have to) it would be horribly expensive to plan it out and build all those rockets.
1
@twojacksandanace3847 Didn't the swine flu in 2009 count as a pandemic?
1
But who says people will be in the future at all?
1
We somehow managed to go deeper
1
Interesting contrast, I live in Finland and since we have only a population of 5m and a huge area, our trains go easily to the smallest villages and suburbs. Unfortunately though weather dictates that we have to rely on buses for in city transport (besides Helsinki which has great public transport)
