Just buy a Škoda Superb instead, tbh. Nicer and more usable interior and looks better than this new Passat.

The interior is proof that practical controls can be integrated in a minimalist way, I saw the press pics originally and thought oh no they've gotten rid of climate controls like Golf 8, but no! They're just styled well. Good job Opel. Also agree, the base interior looks fantastic.

Inconsistent build quality, wonky parts, temperamental soft close, yup sounds about right for built in America 😅
124
I do really like Škoda's current design direction and I think this is a much better effort than VW did with the Golf 8, however I am still disappointed at the removal of temperature dials.

First time in a LONG time I'm genuinely impressed with a new VW. I like the Buzz, but it's got a ton of drawbacks too. This ID.2all concept looks very close to production, I suspect headlights and the steering wheel at least to get some changes but otherwise it looks very production ready and I hope they keep the changes from other ID. cars, like finally having disc brakes in the rear again, because regenerative braking doesn't help in winter conditions you need disks.
109
Oh wow they actually did it? Impressive, I was expecting it to stay a concept. Always happy to see niche cars like this tried out.

This and the new Scenic you can really tell that the Peugeot designer went to work for Renault, and clearly didnt wanna come up with new ideas.
95
Should be a slam dunk for Renault, well worth the wait since their last all new Electric model. Just does almost everything better than it's VW rivals.
50
Small detail I appreciate: Skoda doesn't bs, they call their sporty look package sportline instead of "vRS-line" or "vRS-sport" or something like that like every other brand slapping their high performance division badges on base models willy nilly like m-sport, amg-line or vw r-line.
34
That's what's mysterious to me, Škoda has consistently been moving up market while VW has consistently been moving down market, doesn't that seem counterproductive?
33
I love how it looks slightly concept-y. I think it's very handsome and I like how Dacia knows how to make an interior still have cheap materials, but they embrace them and use them smartly instead of doing tons of fakery.
32
I like how they hid the rear wiper under the rear spoiler
28
@johnnysilverhand1733 I mean in my personal opinion, the all new Superb has a more premium looking interior with it's colour options, lesser reliance on gloss black plastic and more shapely dash. The additional climate buttons make it more usable.
24
It looks extremely close to the concept and I like it a lot. Very excited for the next generation Twingo, which will similiarly be a throwback to the original Twingo design of the 90's.

Idk if it's as bad elsewhere in Europe but a major problem with Honda is their pricing. Toyota has rather expensive starting prices for their cars here in Finland, but Honda is way worse. HR-V starts at 37,000€. No wonder they only sold 200 cars last year to Toyota's 14 thousand (or Nissans 2,6 thousand). Honda makes good cars but they are way too expensive for what they are right now, I remember seeing Civics everywhere in the early 2000's, now I don't see any new Hondas which is no wonder since they sell even less than Subaru and Lexus.
17
But that doesn't really give them an excuse either since touch screens etc. are now cheaper than buttons etc. since they only have to spend research and contractor money on one component.
16
Improvement over the pre-facelift. The split headlamps here actually make the front end more balanced, as previously it was slim single unit headlights vs. tall grille.
16
I personally like the Titanium X better. I like the wider grille design and the body cladding. I don't understand the point of buying a small SUV and then putting a body coloured body kit onto it like the ST-Line. But in general I do like this new Puma and I think it's a great competitor in the segment. Puma is a great name and restricting it to only a single generation rust bucket from the 90's seems a bit silly to me.
16
Cheaper than 60K maybe yes but don't be ridiculous, 35K at this point is a fully specced Fabia, you really think the VZ should be the same price as a Fabia?
14
I agree on the Build Your Dreams text 😅 Might as well slap a live laugh love sticker on your rear windscreen. Unfortunately that is production at least in China, they really should just rip that off and put the same BYD badge from the front on the back.
14
Brits be like DAY SEE UHH
14
I still somewhat understand making Cupra a separate brand if it's exclusively sporty cars but if they're going to sell this with a basic 150hp engine you can get in a Leon what is the point of not just making it a Seat?
14
That efficiency truly is insane for the segment! Up to 200km more real world range than some competitors
14
I'm happy the Targa came back for the 992, it was my favourite 991 version besides possibly the speedster which was perhaps too rare for my tastes.
12
@dragospahontu "simplicity" yeah no they've jumped through hoops to make their newest cars as convoluted as possible to use in the name of minimalism
11
It's interesting that you can see where the production front and rear lightbars will go as there are cut outs for them in the body, but in this concept there is only floating strips in that space.
11
Hold on a second, with this reveal is Opel/Vauxhall now the only legacy automaker whose entire lineup is available electric? The Crossland just got replaced with the Frontera and this Grandland replaces the old one and those were the last holdouts I think.
10
I do quite like the styling of this one especially without the AMG-line, and in my book one big upside it has over the more expensive EQS SUV is for whatever reason, Mercedes allows you to get ventilated seats in the EQE and EQE SUV if you go for Artico leatherette. In their more expensive models you have to get full leather for seat ventilation, which makes no sense to me.
10
The rear looks very odd, like the rear lights are somehow flatter than usual etc
10
CX-60/80 difference definitely makes more sense than the North American 70/90 duo, however I'm disappointed to see the same bulb-like rear styling from the NA duo has been brought over for this CX-80. I was fearing that, since it needed to be lengthened for the third seating row but especially from diagonal angles the rear end looks really bloated compared to the CX-60.
9
My eyes actually widened when the car lifted that fast!
9
I've been watching for years but never thought to ask; where does it come from that you call hard plastic "hard pack" 😁 Never hear it anywhere else, signature Autogefühl thing 😎
9
This RS coupe looks almost identical to the IV concept from a few years ago. One of the most faithful production versions from concept in recent years
9
This is probably the first facelift (exterior wise, at least) as of recent VW facelifts that I like, I think the Polo looks much worse facelifted and too busy, this looks nicely smoothed out especially style trim. However I suspect this will still be way too expensive for what it is, the cabrio is over 40,000€ without options here! That's Merc C-Class territory!
9
10:40 Yeah I think it's kind of embarassing that the Enyaq according to everything I've seen in reviews is the much more premium and well refined product compared to the ID.4... Skoda's not supposed to be on top of VW, is it?
9
Love the monoblocks, they really fit on the larger GLS.
8
Of course, not groundbreaking but I can't wait for the PSA Astra in a few years.
8
Overall I think the design is a lot more proportional than the sedan/liftback. The Id.7 has a somewhat unusual hood line so the body looks tall and the roofline extends too far on the sedan. This wagon fixes both proportional issues.
8
Can you alone buy enough sedans that it's worth it for them?
7
Mercedes optioning does confuse me slightly although I am generally a fan, GLC, EQE, GLB etc can get ventilated seats with Artico leatherette, but expensive models like EQS, S-Class, etc cannot get ventilated seats with Artico, you need to get full leather. What's up with that?
7
@as114 Knobs will be outdated? What about screens? Infotainment screens always get outdated super fast.
7
I like the rear design and is recognizable as SEAT, however the front half is 100% current gen Ford Focus. Wouldn't be a problem but the interior is anti-user, it's terrible. Even otherwise fiddling with the touchscreen or worse the touch pads is convoluted and dangerous if driving, they are completely unusable with gloves. Shameless cost cutting.
7
Wait really? Haven't studies shown that Android Auto / Carplay are an absolute necessity for like 90% of carbuyers? seems like an oversight
6
Suuuuureeeeeeee
6
I know the Levante isn't that old but this interior just looks so old and outdated by now, as if it came out in 2013 or something like that.
6
Not only Kodiak, but superb too. They're slightly different but both great
6
Is there a clip missing from the beginning? Anyway, I was somewhat surprised to see that the bronco is officially coming to Europe now. I knew that it was already unofficially imported en masse to Germany though just as pickups are
5
If only the rest of the range did too
5
It's like they tried to hide the rear end design, all the promo vehicles are in the two tone with the black that hides the rear design. What I can see, does remind me of a pre-facelift Mitsubishi Eclipse-Cross. Not good, not nearly a success as the Prius design wise. Good front end though, reminds me of a larger Aygo-X.
5
They bring the Explorer which already barely fits on our roads and parking lots as it's bigger than even the German biggest 3-rows (GLS, X7) so they definitely won't bring Expedition. Although, people in countries like Finland with more space already unofficially import F150s which don't fit either so private import people will do.
