I do really like Škoda's current design direction and I think this is a much better effort than VW did with the Golf 8, however I am still disappointed at the removal of temperature dials.

That's what's mysterious to me, Škoda has consistently been moving up market while VW has consistently been moving down market, doesn't that seem counterproductive?

@Adrian-jn9ov I live in southern Finland, which means I wear gloves half the year and therefore can't use the touch screen half the year, and in any case, even if I don't have gloves on, I do change the temperature a lot because I don't wear the same clothes everyday, to put it simply. Therefore the same temperature isn't comfortable to me every day and in this climate I would have to take manual control a lot in any case.

It would kill the golf regardless in some markets. In Finland for example the Octavia is by far the most sold car annually with the Golf trailing far behind and this new model definitely won't slow that down.

So because the rear door is the same and only all the other body panels and interior components are new, this is just a facelift? What sort of paint are you huffing exactly?

@erazorCTF I replied to someone else about it, but that doesn't really work unless you wear the exact same level of clothing every day, and you don't when you live in a country with 4 proper seasons.

It is still a hatchback, I don't know why but for some reason autogefühl has always called the Octavia hatchback a sedan.
