  3.  @MundoOval  For touch surfaces you really only need to worry about programming where for physical buttons you need to produce (or most likely pay a subcontractor to do it) lots of different buttons for each different functions, it isn't that big of a cost saving but the r&d savings plus the claims for futuristic product make it worth it for manufacturers.
