I wonder if GM is ever coming back to Europe. I believe they currently officially are in Europe but only for official Corvette imports and that's it.

Yeah no, Opel/Vauxhall now use the PSA 8-speed auto that's ubiquitous across the entire PSA lineup and that's now bleeding into some FCA cars too.

It's probably more realistic to say that PSA bailed out FCA to form Stellantis, given a majority of higher ups are from PSA and it's mostly PSA tech that's spreading to the old FCA brands rather than other way round. Sorta like how Daimler-Chrysler was a "merger of equals" but was steered by Mercedes.

I might be a minority in the car "fandom" so to say who is happy to see sedans die off, I don't get that body style at all. Very few sedans look better than their wagon/hatch counterparts and they have trunks that you can only use for suitcases. I would much rather the crossover be the dominant body style than sedan. HOWEVER I do also lament the stateside death of the normal hatchback, agreed on that. There are still some options but not enough and the few non-crossover cars that are offered are sedans usually.

@theclearsounds3911 What is it right now if not a car?

@theclearsounds3911 Probably a cultural difference then, sorry if I came across rude

@SarahnTuned How about 2-cylinders? Did Fiat ever sell the 500L or 500 with the two cylinder 100hp engine?

@TheNismo777 Opel hasn't been in GM ownership since 2017, it was bought by PSA (and since PSA merged with FCA, now Stellantis) and now that the Insignia is dead, all their cars are on Peugeot platforms (except the Movano which is a rebadged Fiat).
