Engine development is expensive as all hell and they'd have to price the supra at supercar prices for it to make any business sense by then.

@TheProgGuy Eh, I don't know. While I agree on the sound with most people, outside it's very clearly from an age when supercars didn't have to compete with regulars cars for wild styling, so it's rather stale by modern standards visually.
2
@ja1pa I mean sure, you couldn't get parts for the Fiat 500 from your gas station anymore but the base 500 when it came out in ~2007 was a very reasonably priced car which does kind of follow the original's legacy
2
@spookcityghouls GM Korea (previously Daewoo, over a decade ago) still makes cars for other GM brands but how did you come up with Kia they have nothing to do with GM
2
4:30 Except of course the modern day Fiat 500 (and 500L and Panda) with the Twinair engine, you could find that engine even in the Panda 4x4 Cross.

@alpenjodel24 What do you mean Opel? I mean GM was really close to killing Opel because they were unprofitable under GM but now under PSA Opel is profitable again.
1
@streetboyz1096 GM was about to kill Opel/Vauxhall but they're still kicking since being bought by PSA, they're now profitable again.
1
How did they kill Opel? They definitely crippled it but Opel is kicking again under PSA
1
@ultraguy8771 They are. Opel was losing GM money, but is now again profitable under PSA.

Wait, so let me get this straight: "Mercedes sells and has sold actual production EVs but they made a retro concept car so they blew it" because that's the message I'm getting? What???
1
It isn't a knockoff it's just the crossover look pack for the 4th gen Focus sold everywhere else too and they were planning on selling the ones made in China to the US but yes they did cancel that due to the trade war.
1
I live in Finland so we get the mk. 4 Focus, considering getting a wagon in titanium or vignale spec. :)

All of them will still be made and sold in Europe, they're only ending sedans and hatchbacks in North America
1
Wait they still made them that late? Thought they discontinued that fiesta when the new one came to Europe in 2017
1
@marquisaof2757 Yeah I know they were the last generation to be sold, I was just a bit confused it was still sold last year because that fiesta was ancient by 2019 standards since it was introduced in 2009.

Cost Cutting. It's impossible to cut corners and get A+ results, but GM sure tries in chase of infinite growth, and thus brands decline due to cheap quality and every car being the same despite the brand. GM would probably be stable if they let each brand have their own identity which would lead to more sales at higher production cost, but that's not profitable enough thus where we are today, at least that's as far as I've understood. They were so close to killing Opel/Vauxhall too, but PSA has turned them profitable now.
1
Didn't Opel leave Russia too? What's with brands leaving Russia suddenly
1
@ReFr4ct1oN How would GLONASS affect it?
1
@ReFr4ct1oN Ah
1
@henelulu Was, Opel was sold to PSA in 2017 so since then Buick and Opel models split, but even before then they only shared styling mostly and the only models shared were the likes of Cascada, Mokka, Insignia, Buicks suvs were other GM fodder
