The most likely explanation is that Finnic people already had the word "harja" and they traded with norse peoples, lots of bronze was found in finnish swamps and lakes

Probably not. Just a couple years ago the meaning of the word "literally" changed pretty much inside of a year to mean the same as figuratively depending on context.

As a Finn I have to say I am constantly annoyed at the lack of distinction between foot and leg or ceiling and roof in my language. Those are very common things you refer to, and imagining a lack of distinction between arm and hand is even more distressing of a concept.

If i'm not wrong, Harja came from the baltics to Finnic languages, and the brush was probably written in norse because the Finnic peoples did trade with the Norse
