This was always a weird car to me (here as the Opel Signum) for the fact that unlike other volume brands trying their hand at a luxury car (Say, VW Touareg, Renault Vel Satis) instead of giving the car boatloads of equipment from base like the Korean brands often did with their luxury sedans (Before Genesis split off) or dousing it in nice materials they focused on a spacious rear seat and higher output engines, while everything else was left Vectra/Astra. So unless you paid extra for options, the inside experience was rather the same as any old Vectra or Astra of the time with the same materials, same equipment and same overall design. The facelift perhaps improved things a little but perhaps by then the damage was done. Sure you'd have a leather steering wheel and automatic A/C, but so did my friend's 2004 Astra wagon.

  3. It doesn't surprise me, the inside experience was largely the same and the design in and out was fully the same as any old Vectra or Astra of the time without any better equipment by default.

  4. I believe most if not all BMWs have had them for decades, but might have chosen to do regular stalks that stay up/down in the recent years.
