  5. I still don't get the depreciation argument. Sure, if it's absolutely massive and you're buying a car so expensive it's an investment like a house but at the end of the day a car is an appliance. You don't sell your dishwasher off after you fancy a new one and expect to get 80% of the value back either.

  11.  @Aviation_Everything  What do you mean unless you look at the 2020 one? Of course we're comparing cars from the same year the Superb is over 10cm longer what are you on about? They have a 100 litre difference in luggage capacity they are not in the same class.

What's incredible about the Avenger is that Jeep managed to take what has been a generally reliable and good quality platform from the Peugeot 2008, Citroën C4 etc. and with the help of Fiat (who have a restyled version called the 600) and filled it with gremlins that showed up in first reviews from the jump. It does look rather nice, though.

  15. I love how they're talking about the Z8 like a value proposition and now to get one you'd need to shell out a measley 200k for a high mileage one. On the cheaper hand, god I love the looks of the Vauxhall VX220 / Opel Speedster.

  16. It's worse now that it's been found the ID.3 can lose up to 8% of battery capacity in only a year, hope it's only a rare occurence but VW needs to get on that asap. Although they still haven't done anything to upgrade the infotainment even though they shouted about their over the air updates, so I'm not hopeful.

  18. Yes, it's the same platform as the electric Mokka, Corsa, 208, 2008, DS 3, 600, C4/C4X. Main distinction with the Avenger and it's Fiat brother the 600 is they're made in Fiat's production lines.

  21. I just noticed the track shots show a Civic for some reason, hah. Anyway, agree about the car. ID line and the Toyota bZ4x are both miserable attempts, but VW still sells these like no issue I suppose brand loyalty runs deep.

  23.  @stianthomassen6693  Surprisingly many at 58, although cars are pretty expensive here anyway. But that's still more than many EVs with superior space and range, so. VW sold 746 ID.3s here in the same time span for reference and some much more obscure brands like DS sold better than the MX-30 though.

You should still run away, as this is built in Fiat's plants instead and has already proved in many tests to be temperamental, however: This technology wise has absolutely nothing to do with Fiat. This is the same platform as the Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, Citroën C4, DS 3, Fiat 600, Opel/Vauxhall Mokka and Corsa, and is actually an all new vehicle significantly smaller than any Compass ever made. Nothing to do with the Compass, nothing to do with old fiats.

Obviously these team tests aren't meant to highlight practicality as much but my biggest issues with this are the bonnet is far too long, which means too much of the footprint of the car is sacrificed to that rather than cabin or trunk space, which the EX30 lacks severely compared to rivals, plus the total lack of a HUD or gauge cluster and overenthusiastic minimalism are other drawbacks. That said, it is modern and stylish plus Volvo cred might explain why it's exploded in popularity as a company car.

  30. I'm sure people would stop calling them CVTs if Toyota stopped calling them CVTs as well, considering they call them e-CVT in all their brochures, all their websites etc. Idk about you but "e-CVT" sounds like a CVT to me.

  31. I suspect the reason they didn't is because despite it being a great performer still, the Superb is almost 10 years old in it's current iteration while the other models compared are much newer models.

  34. In Finland the golf is quite a bit cheaper than the octavia so unless you need the extra space might as well go for the golf

  36. They've been back in Britain since like 2012 or so. They haven't really been selling much but the pre-facelift MG3 has done decently, they're making bigger moves with their new ZS electric crossover.

  37. Small detail but I appreciate the comment on the idiocy of the cork, especially around cupholders. Cork is one of the most impossible materials to clean, and car interiors very much do get dirty.

  38. I would've assumed the horrid side-hinged rear door would've been a negative point. Considering this car is made for city life and there's no way you can access the boot through that in a parallel parking space.
