  1. ExuberantRaptor Yes, but this is a question of freedom. People's futures shouldn't hang on the line of a language that isn't necessary. You have to learn Swedish and do well at it or your average will go down and that could just be the tipping point to you not getting as good of a future education.

B: Unless you think the rest of society needs to cater to <5% of the population further than already speaking a common Lingua Franca, this is inevitable no matter how unfortunate it is.

  6. If we play the population part do you genuinely think that Swedes in Stockholm or Malmö should all have to learn Finnish because 5% of the Swedish population speaks Finnish natively?
