To be fair, the Urus is based on an Audi platform as well, same as the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. This Aston Martin is on it's own unique platform.

@farbodniazi6504 Yeah, I know that my opinion is my opinion, thanks for reminding me.

But what if (it's a wild concept I know) you just like it more than a Mercedes? Wow, right? Who knew people had interests?

@really-._.- unrelated point, but I'd agree if we were talking cayenne coupé. The regular cayenne has a droopy ass.

Not for long, lmao

> Classic Maserati It's an Aston Martin though? What

How is it basically a Jaguar suv?
1
@MRbossman1982 Nope. Aston Martin isn't currently owned by any other car company, it's owned by the chairman of Prodrive and a Kuwaiti investment firm. JLR has nothing to do with Aston Martin anymore, ever since they all left Ford.

Aston Martin is owned by a couple rich guys and a Kuwaiti investment firm, so not by any other car company currently.

I think for the first time one of these luxury brand SUVs looks good, reason being that the DBX is based upon it's own platform and not an Audi Q7 like the Bentayga, Urus or Cayenne. That's why the design works.
1
Not really, the Supra is based completely on the BMW but this Aston Martin has it's own unique platform and it's the engine that is based on Mercedes-AMG.

Because companies need to make money. Not enough people buy Aston Martin's GT cars for obvious reasons, they need a model that people will actually buy enough to keep the company afloat, same with Lamborghini, same with Porsche, same with Lotus.
1
Remember that Aston Martin also came out with the DB-9 Convertible and the Cygnet.
1
You didn't need one but the brand, wanting to actually make money and function as the company that it is, did need it.
1
I think you've forgotten about the DB-9 convertible and the Cygnet
