I just spotted "Mersu" and thought there was a car video in my subscription feed only for the happy surprise of a Tasting History video! (Mersu is a nickname for Mercedes in Finland)

This one is in exceptionally good condition. Hard to believe someone has managed to maintain one like this.

The Matiz was probably the most copied car design by both microcars and "real" cars. Tons of three wheelers and four wheelers from various countries and companies look either exactly like the old one or this.

I had never realized how clever these were! The only thought I ever had while seeing these was the failed moose test but now I wish I could find a clean one.

I personally like the Titanium X better. I like the wider grille design and the body cladding. I don't understand the point of buying a small SUV and then putting a body coloured body kit onto it like the ST-Line. But in general I do like this new Puma and I think it's a great competitor in the segment. Puma is a great name and restricting it to only a single generation rust bucket from the 90's seems a bit silly to me.

Love the 75 so much. I still get loads of compliments from mine the design inside and out has just aged so much better than for instance it's Jaguar rivals of the time, just such a shame mine is on it's way out what with 340k km on the clock. If I didn't have one in green, it'd have to be this red.

The Honda E was short lived, but i understand why. Renault is sort of doing the same concept right with the retro R5, because the pricing on that is more reasonable and it offers both long- and short range battery options.

I've been watching for years but never thought to ask; where does it come from that you call hard plastic "hard pack" 😁 Never hear it anywhere else, signature Autogefühl thing 😎

I am obsessed with this car. Once I have the money I'm going to import one of these and a Suzuki Lapin into Finland.

Mercedes optioning does confuse me slightly although I am generally a fan, GLC, EQE, GLB etc can get ventilated seats with Artico leatherette, but expensive models like EQS, S-Class, etc cannot get ventilated seats with Artico, you need to get full leather. What's up with that?

For comparison I have a 1999 Rover 75 1.8 with over 320k kilometres on the clock and the biggest issue I've had was a worn out gearbox cable snapping while I was in 2nd on an 8-lane junction, besides that just your typical parts replacements.

Wait... They sold these in 5-door variant??? I've only ever seen 3-doors so this one just looks odd.

I'm actually considering one of these late 00's / early 10's 4-seat hardtop convertibles for my next car to replace my Rover 75, and I do like aspects of this one like the 3-piece roof mechanism and the closed silhouette on this one a lot. Unfortunately, it's still a mid 00's Astra inside and at the front so I associate it instantly with my sister's and her husband's old astra wagon that's falling apart, which is why I'm more considering a facelifted Ford Focus CC or Peugeot 308 CC since they're a bit more exclusive and definitely more rare. If only the Astra Twintops successor the Cascada had a hardtop.

Unrelated to the video but just wanted to say that your video on the original Merc A-Class set me on the road to my current daily which I just picked up on Saturday. I got myself a '98 A 140 Classic to replace my Rover 75 and it's a gem! I agree with pretty much everything you said in that video it's so versatile and shockingly comfortable and refined for such a small and boxy car.

It won't be this exact model, the us will get CX-70 which will be slightly larger

3:49 Whooooo brought a Fiat Multipla to the meet? That's awesome! How the heck did they get that car to Canada? Those are already rare in Europe cause they were just cheap cars from decades ago that people used up and then scrapped but to see one in North America outside the lane motor museum is wild.

I'm personally fine with the exterior changes but I don't understand why the steering wheels had to be changed, they were modern enough and fine before and the new ones don't suit the rest of the interior at all.

@autogefuehl The new Tiguan is also weird about this, they only brought back the volume/driving mode dial but not temp controls.

The title says pure EV revolution @ toyota... AT TOYOTA. Nobody's saying Toyota started it for the whole industry.

The current C-Class came out in 2014 and got facelifted in 2018 so I think it's safe to say we can expect an all new C-Class in 2021.

11:05 They're actually learning and adapting better than, say, VW because after they came out with the XPower version, that and all MG4s after have a rear wiper now.

As for the infotainment/AC, I do agree that the A3 is the best and the Octavia follows in 2nd because the sliders in my opinion are even worse than just the touch screen. Not sure why you can't control the AC temperature from the steering wheel or a stalk in most cars like you can with volume and cruise control though, should be a thing if we're doing away with central buttons.

Wasn't aware of this gentry model! I've only known of the 206 Roland Garros models with their green leather interiors and such.

Oh, this brings some memories! I've commented about my 75 before, I had a dark green 1.8 Classic with a tan interior, proper bmw era '99 year. I still miss it very often now that I've been without it and with the A140 instead for a bit over a year. Had to give it up due to not being able to afford all the small repairs I would've had to do with the mileage it had, nothing compares.

Oh my, this would be quite the dream for me. I currently own a dark green 1999 75 1.8 which I do love but I am planning to get rid of for the impractical sedan shape and lack of a/c (as it's a classic trim). There's not enough of these wagons here in Finland for me to have much of a choice if picking one though. Although one good thing I suppose about the 1999 models like the one I have is I've heard they're of the best quality.
