@BalkanWizard remember, mainland China's whole culture is built upon 'saving face,' so any negative news is therefore censored. It's too upsetting for Winnie The Pooh, I mean, Xi Jinping. And it drives away even more foreign investment, the only thing that even created modern day China in the first place.
