  2.  @calebhollen5316  Give them another 100 years and then maybe there's a comparison. Over 90% of their navy can't sail further than 300 miles in war time maneuvers (not sailing very slow in a straight line), they can barely make it to the Philippines. Also, by raw tonnage (the actual SIZE of all the ships comprising the navy) they're very far behind. Add in the corruption coupled with untested, unskilled, and very, very under trained personnel and there isn't even a comparison to make. Japan has the world's 2nd largest navy for comparison (and the US and Japan train constantly on land, sea, and air together). This would apply to all branches of their military. Give them another 100 years and MAYBE then there is an actual contest, but probably still no.
