70 percent of Chinese household wealth is held in real estate. (The comparable number in the U.S. is less than half that, investments being much more diversified). China's population collapse means much less real estate buyers (more ghost cities) which means China cannot make its transition to a consumer-based economy when consumers as a whole have shoved so much of their wealth into properties that will often end up being worthless. This is the Last Chinese Generation.

Morally, because of the CPC, modern China has already collapsed. The economic and political collapse follows close behind. The first 2 have already happened, the 3rd one is unfolding for the entire world to see.

Deposits in Chinese banks have soared since 2015 while private-sector consumption of durable goods is down by around a third and private investment is down by two-thirds. The condition is systemic, and the only reliable cure—credibly assuring ordinary Chinese people and companies that there are limits on the government's intrusion into economic life—cannot be delivered, thus continuing the downward slide. The CPC is clamping down on consultants and statistics-providers whose conclusions might be politically inconvenient. The economy has already collapsed, just waiting on the CPC now.

@TheDivineCalls333 carrying water up a couple flights of stairs is downright horrible, until a giant flood washes the entire city away a few hundred miles to the next province. Then it starts all over again with carrying the water up a few flights of stairs, in another province, with nothing but the water left to carry. 🤕

It's a shame regular, hard working Chinese people will be forever destroyed by one, giant imbecile named Xi Jinping but this is truly the end of China's economy as the citizens and the world knew it. The Chinese didn't deserve this ending or this government.
