  1. According to the Shanghai Academy of Sciences, China has enough spare apartments that have NEVER BEEN LIVED IN to house an extra 1.5-3 Billion people. The actual market value of the majority of all mainland apartments are less than 10% of what they're currently valued at and that's the sum total of the private savings of the bulk of the Chinese population. This will have the impact of an enormous social breakdown as they vast majority lose their life savings at the same time they are starving to death.

In the US, the standard insurance amount is $250,000 USD per depositor, per insured bank (there are 1,000's of FDIC insured banks in the US), for each account (including Checking Accounts, Savings Accounts, Money Market Deposit Accounts, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Cashier's checks, money orders, and other official items issued by the bank). Trust accounts are insured up to $1.25 million USD. Bank runs only affect banks dealing in a majority of uninsured financial instruments (digital currency, etc).
