Is this all Liz Truss's fault? Or are the sanctions against Russia really the root cause and in fact there is nothing any UK government can do? Every decision Truss has made has been a disaster, even when she does a 180deg U turn it's a disaster. What does this mean? No matter what the UK does the economy is in dire straights. All any UK PM can do is decide whether the rich are hurt, the middle class are hurt or both. The sanctions have caused energy price to spike. To avoid people having to to choose between heating and eating the UK govt will go into debt by 45 Billion. But the UK is already up to its ears in debt. Loyalty to the US hegemon will not just bring down to the UK government, it will bring down the UK economy.
