  1. Most western media calls this a conflict between Taiwan and China. This is wrong, this is a conflict between US and China. The people in Taiwan think this has nothing to do with a real invasion. But China certainly wants to influence the outcome of the next election in Taiwan. China wants the people of Taiwan to realize the US will just sit by if anything real happens, just like it threw Ukraine under the bus.
