  1. In addition to story on Gen Milley, the US/UK will help Australia build nuclear attack subs. The US/UK technology will replace the 12 French Subs with 8 US nuclear subs at a cost that is expected to at least slightly exceed the $90B the Aussies would pay France. The three countries say, this is not against china. And I believe that's true. Why? At $90B for 8 submarines that's $11B/each. What does the US DoD pay for their most advance Virginia class sub? $3.4B (wikipedia). This is not about China at all, it about soaking the Australian taxpayer for 10's of billions. (all US subs are nuclear powered) On the other hand Australia was about to sign a contract with France for $90B for 12 subs. When a govt is willing to overpay such a huge amount for weapons systems, it's not about defense.
