  1. idiotic phrasing. mental illness is part of the human condition just as physical illness. saying the mentally ill shouldnt own guns is saying humans shouldnt own guns. its too broad of a statement. the question should be; should the mentally ill that are a danger to themselves or others own a gun? which of course, they shouldnt. the sticking point is who determines this? the person themself? supposed experts? big daddy government? a committee of their peers?
