  72. people nowadays think its silly or trite that we existed under the constant threat of nuclear annihilation. but its true i assure you. i recall an incident that illustrates this perfectly. a friend and i were watching a disco music tv show in the early 80s (not because we liked disco music, in fact we hated it, but because we liked watching disco dancers lol). well, suddenly the show was interrupted by the awful tone of the emergency broadcast system warning. and this was back when that meant something before it came to be used for thunder storms and the like. frankly we thought we were going to be dead in 26 minutes or less. the area where we lived was smack between 2 very high value targets that we knew were on the soviets target list so there was no where to escape to. we were utterly convinced this was the end. luckily for us the announcer came on to tell us what was really happening. (i think it was either when president reagan got shot or the ussr shot down the korean airlines jetliner). i can think of only 2 or 3 other occasions in my life where i was as convinced i was going to die.

  104.  @TimeGhost  im actually surprised you perceived much of any right at all, as most feedback (admittedly very anecdotal) suggests europeans seeing only the leftist narrative. no, i dont mean bias, that can easily be accounted for as long as you know which direction of said bias. no actually it doesnt. that i think is from only seeing the side thats being presented by the mainstream media. if you look at what was initially being claimed, and watch the video of what actually happened, there is no interpretation. what was being claimed is 180 degrees from what actually happened. a narrative was crafted to smear our president (because the kids were wearing maga hats) which was not only false, but actually ignored actual transgressions of those that initiated it (the black hebrew isrealites) and whose account was being presented (nathan phillips). this was done, and fact checking ignored, because it helped advance the narrative that the media wished to portray. ie things were crafted ignoring what really happened (video of which was available as soon as what was aired) and the exact opposite was reported. thats not bias, thats flat out deception. much like no one disputes that mh17 was shot down, but a narrative was crafted to protect whom actually did so. actually as soon as as i saw the fabricated photo of the su-25 frogfoot that russia claimed to have shot the airliner down. i knew russia was lying. the su-25 is a ground attack aircraft and doesn not operate at the altitude commercial airliners fly. well as i said, i believe the 2 come together in that the false is being reported as true to support a particular narrative. oh, to be sure. all one has to do is look at the origins of the spanish american war to know this. well the volume of the onslaught is new. but also the ability at one fingertips to sort through it as well. well, human perception being what it is, weve always lived in such a world to some extent. well, cross checking sources bias in both directions and sampling many other sources can counteract this. in fact, i would say it rather takes some effort to willingly remain in ones bubble. very true as ive encountered myself from time to time. i myself just present the facts as i myself know them an encourage the recipient to research it themselves, and move on. well, not amongst anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty. for the others, theres only so much you can do. it may be post fact for them, but not for me.
