  1. fascinating episode. triumph des willens is moving, awe inspiring, and seductive. even knowing the horrors to come it depicts the nazi party as something grand in scale and somehow engenders a longing to join in its sense of belonging. one can only wonder at the effect on prewar viewers with no inkling of the depraved horrors to come. once upon a time actors were considered little better than vagrants and pan handlers.

  3.  @TimeGhost  indeed. it is calculated to appeal to emotions rather than reason and succeeds quite well, sadly. one cannot deny its emotional power though. doing so is underestimating an enemy. we have to be vigilant for future such movements employing similar tactics and dispel the illusion with counterpoints.
