i was expecting this to be extremely bias (not that there isnt cause for it). but it was really well balanced not trying to impugn the good that he accomplished because of the bad that he did. as far as the firebombing of japan. yes it was horrific, yes it was war against civilians, but, considering how much of japans war industry relied on cottage industry for everything from bayonets, uniforms, to airplane parts, i know of no technology available at the time to degrade that aspect of japans war making capability. this is not trying to justify the civilian deaths. but it is said that the only sin in war is loosing. is that true? well, that is for higher pay grade than myself to decide. i was not there in that place and time.
