i cant wait for the sjw woke remake "falling woke"
90
well, it took a year after 2019, but weve got the dystopian part correct lol.
57
back when "toxic masculinity" won the day. USA! USA!
50
and by "quirky", the really mean "unstable"........
29
thats because the same people fueling the forever wars are sowing the chaos here.
28
it just didnt fit.
26
possibly the greates hiku in human history.
16
@mmolchin it was too forced and didnt fit the persona of sulu. even george takai agreed. its not about being gay. its about being true to the character and not using them as a 2 dimensional puppet fo your agenda.
16
when sociopaths are lauded and admired, people will emulate sociopathy.
14
"balance of terror", "city on the edge of forever", "let that be your last battlefield". i could go on and on.
13
@MrBlockton old chinese curse; "may you live in interesting times.'
13
@ShadowSonic2 or where ALL the white males in the movie are negative stereotypes and women, minorities, or other special interest groups are the saviors. i am saying no such thing. stop trying to impose your preconceptions on my commentary. confine it to your own commentary.
12
@mmolchin thats kinda my point. it didnt fit with the character and just felt forced on artificially inserted. if you want to create a character thats gay, thats fine. more power to you. but forcing such a change on a pre existing character just doesnt work.
12
" to boldly blow like no show has blown before." which also explains how klutzman got his contract renewed.........
11
already there. now i gotta start working on my abs. ill start tomorrow. for sure.
10
now thats a power trade if ever i saw one. hell that has to rate as some kind of incantation!!!
10
@ShadowSonic2 ie i didnt. im saying hollyweird will remake it to make it more woker.
10
not to sound too harsh, but if any country can convey the abject horror of war, it would be germany. now if only we could get the world to heed this message. on a separate side note mephisto is the name of the only surviving example of my favorite ww1 tank the german a7v.
10
so does "you dont ask GOD for his ID!"
10
i have to agree. it sums up what im feeling about star trek of late. i cant believe im actually having to hold back tears writing this.
9
id say even the 1979 version holds up well. not as good as the 1930, but good. and seeing the events in color made it all the more real.
9
@Cyricist001 "more and more required by mandate" are you kidding??? they made it conscription. and sure, early on you could volunteer for the ss if you met the stringent requirements, or be drafted into the wehrmacht in whatever capacity it saw fit. and if you go by heinleins mindset, no it wouldnt. he was dead set against conscription. in his view, if society could produce enough volunteers needed to save itself, it simply wasnt worth saving and deserved whatever it got. doesnt get much more libertarian then that.
8
@ShadowSonic2 who says you get to decide what "woke" means. thats pretty arrogant little snowflake. ie most of the jerks are white guys if you ignore the ones that arent lol.
8
@mmolchin why is forced "representation" even needed? let it become naturally.
8
@480JD thats true. many girls grind your heart out by "not wanting to hurt you."
8
@ZAK31591 heinleins book doesnt have a pro war message. it has a pro soldier message. no one hates war more then those that have to fight it. that being said i love both the book and the movie. though my love of the movie is more for what of heinleins book verhoven put into it without really understanding it.
7
thats because most people had more depth then most people today.
7
"admiral" halo eeerrrrr haldo is the perfect representation of a sunning, and brave, and unstable, insecure, and emotionally stunted modern feminist "woman".
7
@ShadowSonic2 please copy and paste where i say anything like that.
7
a year and 3 months later and drinker has over 500K subscribers. looks like hes got the right drink, at the right place, at the right time.
7
negative. i am a meat popsicle.
6
for sure. never known any authoritarian government, that encouraged its citizens to learn more. admitted a military debacle outright, instead of trying to cover it up, held its leadership responsible for said debacle, and actively encouraged volunteers to quit.
5
@Daddy_Bear_722 that tends to happen when someone of lesser intellect tries to lampoon someone of greater intellect. they dont realize what theyre even including.
5
thats because a its being fanned onpurpose. and b the people who make you angry online hide behind a facade face to face.
5
@Cyricist001 i could see why youd think that, but its not a collectivist mindset. it takes a free man to make such a decision. collectvists arents asked. theyre simply sacrificed as and where the governing body decides.
5
@specialnobody4148 the culture war needs no fanning. people are angry, very angry. its been slowly building for decades now. i shudder to think if that anger is allowed off its leash.
5
i still use that to this day!
5
plus the need to settle old scores ran deep amongst the great powers of europe.
4
Comrade von Herpenderpf the feeling the war could be ended quickly with "one more big push" persisted into 1917. it amazes me it took those in charge that long to see the plainly obvious.
4
@cognophile right, but the movie heavily implies it has to be military services instead of simply civic service.
4
yeah, ww2 may have introduced the world into unimagined depravity, bit for the regular foot soldier, ww1 has to rate as the most suffering induced.
4
@ShadowSonic2 complaining??? i said i couldnt wait!!! :P
4
could you possibly be referring to the jean luc discard galactic apology tour?
4
id have to dispute that. the american civil war would be the 1st. ww1 just elevated it into an art form. and art form perpetrated upon lion by donkeys.
4
@somebody652-b9i grandpa soros has deep, deep pockets.
3
now you know how star trek fans feel.
3
nope. the poor bloody infantry run the world.
3
both are films about german warriors being destroyed by war.
3
well, to be fair we didnt know a whole lot of spunkmeyers motivation and backstory in aliens.
3
@dropit7694 absolute bs. there was no "forever war" in heinleins book. the entirety of the military geared for massive, sharp initial engagements to hurt the enemy so much as to want to come to the peace table. and we are in no sense living in heileins world. especially now with all the oppression in the name of a disease with a 99%+ survival rate. and they stole the election from the only man that tried to get us out of wars.
