im all conflicted over this and heres why. i know why they made this movie and can figure out the agenda, so id like to dismiss it as what it likely is. but heres why im conflicted, ive been a student of both world wars for over 50 years now, and ive never heard to the 6888th postal battalion until now. and i enjoy learning about the more obscure units and facts about the wars. and getting the mail delivered to the remote corners of the globe our soldiers were fighting in was vital, and i do mean vital to our soldiers morale. and ive read a number of times from disaffected vets that the mail system was one of or the only thing the army got right. so clearly it did help morale during the war. so do i think this particular unit deserved some recognition after all these years? yes. do i think its likely to require a netflix "heroic movie" made about it? doubt it. but ill still likely watch it if the opportunity arises if only to critique the authenticity of the uniforms and gear.
