wrong. the military clique ruling japan had no intention of ending the war until it had forced the usa to invade so as to cause so many causalities to be forced to negotiate a peace favorable to japan. as for the soviets, its ridicules to credit japans surrender to them. for that premise to be true one would have to believe that invasion by the ussr with little amphibious invasion experience and little amphibious infrastructure so frightened the japanese they surrendered while they were simultaneously trying to force the worlds premier amphibious invasion military (the usa) with the largest amphibious infrastructure literally in human history to invade is preposterous.

@Letsplay222 to keep some of their conquests. which was their plan from beginning. conquer a bunch of territory until the allies get sick of fighting and give up. never said it was a rational plan.

@Letsplay222 are you forgetting they still had millions of troops in china and mainland japan? thousands and thousands of suicide boats, subs, and aircraft? were working on advanced aircraft? like i said, i never said it was a rational strategy, but that was their strategy.

@Letsplay222 thank you captain obvious! any other painfully obvious historical facts you wish to share with me? wrong. they had husbanded thousands of aircraft in preparation of the invasion. they had some trained pilots and hoards of barely trained kamikaze pilots. some of their homeland was in rubble. yet still they had not collapsed. didnt say you could. they still had hundreds of thousands of troops in places the usa had bypassed. tell my how the ruling clique that was espousing repelling the invasion with the "sacred 100 million" which included 30 million dead ancestors was rational. youre just distorting facts or just are uninformed to demonize the usa for using the bombs and ending the war quickly without further bloodshed.
