what about the effects of the vibrations of being transported by road for over an hour on 5 round trips? the effects of handling while its uninstalled, and reinstalled on the wonder? the effects of being towed on the platform in rought seas for hundreds of miles? there are so many unaccounted for variables in this project, all of which could become s smoking gun for something going terribly wrong. how was the titan ever supposed to be a successful vessel with all these unaccounted for variables stacked against it? the more i hear the more im convinced stockton had an unconscious death wish.

sounds like instead of preparing for the worst and hoping for the best stockton was hoping for the best and praying for a miracle.

i think that the hull had already begun to delaminate with water ingress between the layers when the loud bang was heard. i suspect that was the differential reexpansion as the submersible ascended. i think thats also why parts the the hull fully delaminated yet didnt shatter when the implosion happened. there was already water between the layers at that pressure when the rest of the hull let go. i think the collapse started at the aft as the aft ends of both side rails were stuffed into the aft end dome during the implosion. ie think of the diameter of the aft end suddenly reducing pushing the aft ends of the side rails inward a couple micro seconds before the rest of the hull shattered and the fore end dome was shoved back towards the aft.
