he was a living breathing example of the dunning kruger effect. plus i think he subconsciously had a death wish.

or as i like to say it; the only force so far able to quash stocktons massive ego are the crushing depths of the ocean.

it would be interesting to know if the width of the roof section of the carbon fiber that didnt shatter corresponds to the width of the placement of the lifting eyes. water ingress at the site of the lifting eyes would fit with my theory that the reason why those parts of the carbon fiber didnt shatter be delaminated because there was already water ingress in these areas. and the CG being a bit aft because of the added weight at the stern would fit with my theory that the implosion initiated at the stern of the carbon fiber. one would presume the additional weight would cause more damage to the glue joint at the stern than the bow. the reason i believe the implosion started at the aft of the hull is because both side rail ends, as well as a great deal of carbon fiber debris are stuffed into the aft titanium dome. which to my mind implies that the after end of the hull constricted inward taking the ends of the side rails with it before the forward end collapsed back towards the aft resulting in the rails and debris being stuffed into the aft dome. hearing about the problems caused by the added stress on the C channel cause by adding those lift points only convinces me of this even more. why no one thought of the obvious alternative solution of simply extending the landing legs upward a little and adding lifting eyes to it resulting in an integral cradle i really dont know.
