@Gabriel-hf1yy wrong. on set protocols are that EVERYONE handling the firearm is to safety check it and demonstrate its safe condition to everyone involved in the scene.
2
@carrollsanders9376 there werent supposed to be any blanks let alone live rounds in the gun. they werent filming a scene. they were just setting up lighting.
2
@carrollsanders9376 on set protocols are that they do safety checks every time theyre handed the firearm.
2
@Gabriel-hf1yy yes, because i learned the real rules from an actor in the industry. you may have heard of him john schneider. yes its the armorers job to check the firearms but its also the job of everyone handling the firearm including the actors. why r u talking out ur az?
2
it was no accident. it was a chain of negligence ending in alec baldwins hand.
2
one thing i notice, not only is baldwins finger on the trigger every time, but for the scene to make any sense, the hammer needs to be already drawn back sinces theres no way he could outshoot the other guys if he had to draw it back AND pull the trigger before they shoot.
1
9:04 in fact you can see him draw the hammer back before he pulls the gun in this scene.
1
9:10 and you can see his thumb on the drawn back hammer when he goes to reholster it.
1
if anything on set safety protocols are even more stringent then the basic rules of firearms safety, and rightly so.
1
the difference between reed and baldwin is that reed didnt have control of the gun. reed didnt intentionally draw back the hammer. reed didnt intentionally aim the gun at another human being. reed didnt intentionally pull the trigger. yes, shes culpable for her failed safety checks. but she didnt fire the gun.

do i even need to say it?
1
@unknownname1941 yes.
1
@carrollsanders9376 in fact safety checks DO include dry firing. john schneider did an excellent video about on set safety protocols. i suggest you go watch it.
1
industry standards require everyone handling a firearm to check to ensure it is in a safe condition and to demonstrate this to everyone involved in the scene. clearly baldwin didnt do this. firearms safety doesnt take a break on movie sets nor because its an actor holding it. these lawyers are idiots.
