one major factor in hitlers rise to power and therefore the germany catastrophe was, not just the treaty of versailles, but the garman war guilt clause. average germans could see germany was no more responsible for ww1 than any of the great powers. and anyone with half a brain can figure out why germany had to be held responsible for the war, because of all the losers, only germany could possibly afford the allied demand for reparations. this stuck in the craw of many germans and hitler was able to tap into this to build his power base with the promise to restore german honor.

@bettyrouch1833 antisemitism was already rampant, it didnt start (or end, for that matter) with hitler. hitler told them many things they wanted to hear. thats why i said the war guilt clause was one component, one of many. "completely unconnected to european conflicts and politics" lol thats hilarious. i think you need to read up some more on european politics and conflicts. all true. nurtured so by hitler and other speakers of the nazi party in a bed fertile with such things already. also true. once again speaking to things that were already there.
