  1. I made my own models and came up with very similar numbers, but that was in January 2020 using the values from the initial Lancet paper when it was published (15% mortality and r0 of 6.5 IIRC). I think by March 2020, more data were available (Diamond Princess and Italy) and shown to be extremely skewed to the sick and elderly and that the whole thing mostly a nothing burger.

  2.  @Sarando1  I don't know, but you can get a very good estimate with sophomore college math, and possibly better with higher level, but that's only in precision and not accuracy. This is what really pisses me off. None of this is rocket science. I would know. All the math models were done in the 1800's. They are not creating new models, that's all bs and lies. All they do is stick numbers into an equation. I could teach a third grader how to do it. I have no idea what these people were doing, but they're either almost impossibly inept or malicious.
