  1. Candles last an hour. Get an led lantern an rechargeable batteries. You should have at least a very minimal solar system with 100watts solar panel, 12v car battery and inverter, Just this one thing goes a loooong way. And remember, nothing runs off of solar. Everything runs off of the battery. The solar is there to recharge the battery.

  3. I used to live 100m from a dairy far (it moved, I didn't). It regularly gets 110+ every year. I don't remember any deaths.

  4.  @SirenaSpades  I bought a corn grinder and some lime from the concrete store and learned how to nixtamalize corn. I now make tortillas and $150 will buy an entire year of good, but somewhat bland, food. yt has good videos on how to do this. Having a garden is nice, but it's nothing like being able to buy 4,000 calories for a dollar. Not sure how long this will be an option.

This process is more thoroughly explained in Rape of the Mind by the Dutch psychologist Joost Meerloo who explains the psychological control by authoritarians like what happened in WW2 when an entire country went mad.
