They are already demonstrably more powerful than governments.

  4.  @marcs4091  It's to bring forth fascism - merger of state and corporate power. Communism is dead and everyone knows it. Companies are more powerful than governments and will never cede that but in name. Corporations control the flow of information and really what is the difference? One is government merging with corporations and the other is corporations merging with government.
