  3. I didn't read it, but I read The Rape of the Mind: The Psychology of Thought Control, Menticide, and Brainwashing by Joost A.M. Meerloo which I think covers the same topic. Meerloo invented the term "brainwashing". He describes how totalitarianism arises. It is from the 1960's I think and you can find copies online. It perfectly describes the covid response
