Were they really old? I think the odds of dying were about 1/300. I don't even know anyone who knows of anyone who was hospitalized

@Cedartreetechnologies I know so many old and demonstrably unhealthy (smokers with copd, overweight, 70's) that came through after being really sick, no hospitalization

Disease modeling is not difficult, in fact you can do 90% of it with high school algebra. It really is mind numbing how incompetent everybody was around covid. You do a lot of pandemic modeling for a mathematics degree, even a degree in civil engineering you have enough to do it yourself. And there really isn't anything new in modeling anyway, that was all done over 100 years ago. All you have to do now is plug a few numbers into an equation. It look me about 30 seconds on a napkin to get in the same ballpark as the official numbers.
