I wonder what 10 hours a day on video games (17 hours on weekends) does to social interaction.

You're a good parent. My parents took my computer way from me (this was in the 80's)

I DGAF and was expelled twice from college (for academics) while studying my brains out at my own pace and subjects and work. After graduation, I was offered two jobs while many of my classmates had trouble finding work in an economic downturn.

@Deestroyer82 Vampires cannot see themselves in a mirror. I think it's just a figure of speech in this case though

I got sent to one (for academic reasons). Probably the best thing my parents ever did. It made college look like a joke however and I rarely even attended, especially the first two years and anything to do with humanities which was just a repeat of high school. I had friends in college who were european students and they told me theexact same things.I have a few of friends from high school who have told me that it's all changed now.

@j.rjunior5584 I really don't know about Catholic schools in general, but when I went it was the top rated school for academics in the state.I remember we had the highest number of national merit scholars west of the Mississippi River at the time

K-12 issupposedlynvery bad, but college is supposed to be the best. Supposedly. One of my parents friend's is a retired teacher and came to Christmas dinner and talked mostly about how education has dumbed down people to the point where she is frightened for her grand children's future.

@michaelbuddy I've been on the internet (in various forms) since the 80's. I notice a very hard turntowards anti-ameticanism around maybe 2005ish. I looked and found various explanations for this, but it never seemed natural. I have no idea what collge is now

The valedictorian from my engineering college was homeschooled and was normal. At least in terms of being an engineering student.🤣 He's a solid guy

That goes for anyone. I had two teachers taken away by "men in white coats" in gradeschool. One of them was a huge spectacle of the teacher standing on a lunch table in the courtyard and a boombox. I don't remember her rant, just that the teacher told us to ignore it and that we'd be getting a new art teacher.
