" Everything points to a mistake or to a hoax orchestrated by two Dutch artists in 2006. NASA has never authenticated the “rock” (there are no documents tracing its origins), it’s far too big to be a donated lunar sample, and its background story is nonsensical."

You are a brain in a vat. There is no reality other than you. You are a god. Enjoy
3
@glennmorris25 I used to design radiation hardened electronics for space. People are a lot more resilient than electronics
3
There is no thermal convection in a vacuum. Things are 250F in the sun and -250F in the shade
3
I used to be a shuttle engineer. I used to find them amusing, but now getting a little concerned with the level of innumeracy and scientific illiteracy. PDB needs to get the guy on who claims that we're living in a dark age.
2
@mockingbirdjane2289 I think Steve Patterson. I probably watched him on Darkhorse podcast,
2
Why would it be fake, we had the hardware to do it? And you can verify that the hardware is exactly what would be needed yourself if you have some sort of technical skill. Eg, we have microsoft flight simulator and it very closely tracks the real thing. Likewise, you have open source programs like kerbal space that accurately model the physics just like msfs. The easiest and most definitive way to 'disprove' the moon landings would be to show the error in the sourcecode. It would be very very easy to do
2
@finish_my_projects It's all religious beliefs
2
The biggest challenge has always been the political will. Even at the time, going to the moon never got above 50% support at it's peak.
2
@tinamarie77123 The moon has a lot of Gravity. All matter does. You can compute the field strength yourself (F=GMm/r^2)> I learned this in grade school.
2
No, that was a hoax
2
@shaykh_Mahboob Yes, from multiple reports on the web. It was given to him by some random guy, not officially from NASA. Why would NASA try to pass off something so easily debunked?
2
@_nebulousthoughts Good thing they didn't stick around
2
Thought experiment: If we really went, and we really have moon rocks, what should he have said.
2
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
2
@dllavid What will you accept? The problem is that people's minds are already made up and no amount of evidence is sufficient. You could send them there and they would say that they were drugged and hypnotized to believe the tings they saw wee real, but they never left earth
1
Because there was no deadly radiation msaybe
1
@kevinschmidt2210 A lot of that going around
1
@ironsurvival7011 I told you how to disprove it and typing uhhhuh is not it
1
@daminashun8868 What evidence do you need?
1
Yes, very true. But that does not invalidate everything
1
Why do you think that was a problem for the time they were there?
1
You forgot: "And there is no evidence that will ever change my mind"
1
It's impossible to get to the "bottom of this" because there is no amount of evidence that will convince people.
1
What's your educational background?
1
Maybe it's not a concern, have you thought of that?
1
@refiii9499 Chernobyl and Fukushima are the real hoaxes. Those things never existed.
1
@finish_my_projects No they didn't. The van allen belt is not a problem.
1
@TheCyberMantis No it did not go through the north pole. I doubt you can even find a hoax site that claims they did. That's not how mechanics work
1
That's what Stockton Rush thought
1
Hundreds of hours on youtube of exactly this
1
@Wonderpattypatty And WW2 never happened, right?
1
that story is a hoax. Never happened
1
Anything that falls to earth from space will have melting on the surface
1
Is that you Whitey on the Moon Guy?
1
I devoted most of my career to it. Can't say if we have or haven't, don't really care, but all the math and physics works out, so why not?
1
Three pe4ople died
1
How do you know that you are not a brain in a vat connected to simulated electrical impulses?
1
You have no evidence of this assertion.
1
@smoothtwh If you think that NASA lies about everything, why do you believe them when they say the van allen belt exists, shouldn't you disbelieve that also?
1
@MinusEighty tv video can be transmitted over radio. There are hundreds of yt videos showing how to do that,
1
@SunSimLord Are you saying that God is not capable of creating a universe like is being advertised?
1
@xyz-mc5of I thought it was 300, but kinda irrelevant. You can get very accurate temps from a distance by measuring the wavelength (color) of an object. See infrared thermometer
1
@xyz-mc5of It's all based on color. This is what einstein got his nobel prize for. Low tech, easy to do and perfectly accurate.
1
@elonever.2.071 Infrared radiation. About 1.7eV per photon
1
What would you accept as irrefutable evidence? If there is none, then it's a religious belief.
1
@superseamstersewingshow514 The technology to go isn't much greater than that which was available during WW2. Most of the technology that was developed for Apollo was in manufacturing, logistics and material science. Lunar probes have been landed on the moon with no computer technology. The biggest science/engineering hurdle was the development of the reentry heat shield.
1
@kevinschmidt2210 3 other countries successfully landed wikipedia: List_of_missions_to_the_Moon
1
@TheCyberMantis No the escape trajectory was not through the poles. That would require far too much energy. Also NASA has never admitted this on video and the profile for which they left the Earth, the radiation belt was not a problem
1
What doesn't match?
1
@johnnyjon440 Apollo 8 astronauts read from the book of Genesis around the moon.
1
" Everything points to a mistake or to a hoax orchestrated by two Dutch artists in 2006. NASA has never authenticated the “rock” (there are no documents tracing its origins), it’s far too big to be a donated lunar sample, and its background story is nonsensical."
1
Don't forget, it's also hollow
1
That was a hoax, not something officially from NASA
1
China has. There's nothing there to go back for; it's just like the ISS, Going back would be a jobs program
1
You are a Boltzmann brain and do not actually exist. Prove me wrong.
1
I've seen the rockets in person, worked with many people who designed them, know that they would be capable of completing the mission. What is your evidence that you are not a brain in a vat?
1
@chrish4478 Why would you believe them on some things, but not others? Very selective system
1
@xyz-mc5of Electrons buzzing around the earth trapped in its magnetic field. It's the same as sputtering (look up on wikipedia), but on global scale.
1
You have no idea that you are just a brain in a vat talking to a computer simulation
1
@MinusEighty A lot of people say that
1
@kev3d And china has landed a rover on it. We all have satellites that have taken pictures of the Apollo landing sites and you can still see everything, even foot tracks
1
And I bet you think WW2 actually happened 🤣🤣
1
Why? Do you think that Kerbel space program could simulate the mission?
1
@mrswolls It does not take a lot of computing power to do
1
Do you think he could have been dicking with you? I worked on the Shuttle and have worked with many people from NASA including people at the director level who came from the Apollo program. They all believed we landed on the moon. I (and they) agree that it's a giant welfare program though.
