  21. Spengler's The Decline of the West describes how civilizations arise from a founding ideology. If you want to replace a civilization, you would need to replace the underlying culture. The process of doing so would probably appear as 'a mind virus.'

  24. Every civilization begins with a religion. The arc is God(the truth)->religion->culture->civilization. Civilization then critiques itself into killing God and the whole thing collapses. Western civilization is based on the Judaeo-Christian religion. Movements like communism, national socialism and the wefers wish to build their own civilizations and you can see in this arc where it is attacked. At least this is what I got from Spengler et al.
