  6. Around me, they put up wind turbine in order to get water rights through some loophole. There is no wind, but the coal fired plant that owns the turbines are allowed to pump ground water for the coal plant

  10. I build an off grid homestead starting from living in a tent and a car. It's very comfortable now, but my insight about civilization is: once you have running how water and a refrigerator, you are 90% there. Everything else is nice to have, but not anything you really miss.
