Debt as money (central banking is a ponzi scheme that must grow exponentially, or it collapses). The only place to get money was through the state, so if you had money, you are indebted to the state. Strangely enough, this is the exact monetary system the US uses. The alternative is a commodity based money system like bitcoin or oil. These are outside of the government, so if you borrow $1 you can repay the $1 by borrowing another dollar or you can go and find $1 of oil and repay with that.

  5. Marx wanted an economy based on "Centralization of Debt in the Hands of the State, by Means of a National Bank with State Capital and an exclusive Monopoly." Isn't that what we have now? All debt based money systems are mathematical ponzi schemes. All ponzi schemes fail while helping those at the top become wealthier.
