  3. They don't. They could move to a poorer are and thrive. Many people do. Maybe not in Malibu. Move up to the Alaskan wilderness like in the olden days or Mississippi if you don't like the cold. Start a homestead. I know people who do it in the desert. Lots of youtube channels of people doing it. The only problem is that it requires a lot of work and it's far easier to live on the street.
