  1. In the 90's out of college, I worked for two years at a company designing a widget. We had a team of about two dozen people. I don't remember the specs, but it came out weighing maybe 10lbs and 20w of power and cost millions of dollars. Today I could (and actually have) build a clone with parts from ebay over a weekend. And it was more accurate, powered from a couple 18650 batteries and you could talk to it over a cellphone. Granted it was brand new at the time and nobody had ever done it, but not everybody knows how to build anything thanks to the internet. The problem I see, is that we should have deflation instead of inflation.
