  1. And people will have lost what skills they may have had. The soviet union did not have ubi, but they had guaranteed jobs you could not be fired from. I saw first hand how utterly destructive that was so society. You end up in a place where very few people care, everybody is meh, they pretend to pay us and we pretend to work. Life holds together for a little while because the older generation is instilled with the old values from birth and it is instinctive, but after that it falls apart within 4 generations. And you can't go back. I'm sure there are other countries willing and able to take over for the US.
