  15. Stock up on baseload, staple food, while it is still inexpensive. One year of flour @2,000 cal/day is under $150 at walmart. I haven't been to costco in a few years, but you could do the same with rice and beans. No special storage is required, but if you live in a warm climate these will be invaded by bugs (weevils) if not protected. Flour is only good for about a year, but still edible. Get some spices and a couple years of salt and use these to augment whatever food you get in the future. You can get 30 good meals out of one chicken or maybe a can of spam or can of tomato sauce
