@nelcityvintage9234 I dunno... I lived in Hiroshima and knew a lot of people there, including some that lived through the bombing. It's all distant history, especially to younger generations. Hiroshima today is a modern thriving city

The US had hundreds of atomic bombs by the time the Soviet Union had their first. The US could have almost effortlessly conquered the world at the time were it so inclined. Its military and manufacturing bases were at their peak and had enough bombs for every major city in the world.

@randygraham926 Most of the people who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings died in fires, not from the bomb blast. Both of my friend's parents lived through the one in Hiroshima, I think they were about 4yo at the time, but lived on the very outer part of the city and were not affected. Japanese cities were mostly comprised of tightly packed wood buildings.
