La Dolce Vita Yeah, when I went to Italy to study in '81 I was surprised that ordering chicken in a restaurant cost so much.  I found out, however, that they value the free range birds and they order the dish for special occasions.  Families might have a roasted chicken once a month to share there.

  3. Ha ha ha!!  I had a coworker I didn't like.  I'd purposely buy a donut WITH SPRINKLES and set it out on my desk.  She'd eye it and ask if she could have it.  I always said yes.  Wow, did she ever have a big butt, hee hee hee hee!!!

  4. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!  I had this nasty coworker who is tall, fat and has greasy hair.  She always had costly diet food for lunch.  I enjoyed watching her eat that junk.

ImSoPeeved Yes, anything labeled "diet" or "light" or "lite" is to be avoided, I've found.  That's a mean-spirited observation on my part about the coworker, but really, she turned out to be vicious.  People buy "diet plans" and "diet foods" and truly don't seem to see they're just being sold stuff.  I went on a diet which was horribly boring for five months and lost a great deal of weight.  It was kind of just cucumber slices with vinegar on them and stuff, but it was all just normal food, I had to prepare it myself, it was very cheap.  Just a boring diet, not a biggie.  In nine years of working with her, she never got any thinner.  Oh, well, hope springs eternal, y'know?

  7. La Dolce Vita I know!  Can you imagine if Americans had to buy free range, equitable turkeys for Thanksgiving?  They cost 50 to 100 USD equivalent here in France!  Well, that'd get 'em thinking.

Ha ha ha ha!!  I was born in the USA in the fifties.  The only time I got a Coke was at Nana's, as she spoiled us.  She also had SLIM JIMS in her fridge, and wow, did they go great with Coke!  What is IN a Slim Jim is scary, but we were little kids who essentially grasped that.  We knew we were washing them down with crap-soda.  IT WAS FUN!  :)
