At the one minute thirty point, I have that very same kind of table, just in brighter colors.  I found mine in the trash in Brooklyn in the early '90s.  Those are very handy, tend to extend, have drawers, and were done in the USA in the '30s.  The simulation of marquetry on plain metal was seen as a cheaper fakeout than doing wood inlay and all.  Once hard times improved, many people threw those tables out!  These are very useful, sturdy, easy to clean.  If you find one, buy it!  At the very least these are reliable.  :)

  2. ***** They're really great tables and are extendable.  The fake marquetry was seen as cheap looking to people when things got better so a lot of the old tables got pitched.  You found a nice one, I love the muted colors on the top!
