  1. Nikita Tomar (may her soul rest in peace) comes from a family of patriots whose family members served in Indian Military. She intended to join the army after completing her Bachelor's degree. On 26th October of 2020, her fomer schoolmates Tausif and his friend Rehman Shot her dead outside her college in Faridabad, Haryana. The Man who shot her wanted her to marry him and convert to Islam which she refused to. Tausif and Rehman originally hail from Mewat. 1947: Gandhi visited Mewat to urge the Muslims living there not to leave for Pakistan. 2017 : An inquiry into the alleged atrocities committed against Dalits in Mewat/Nuh was conducted by a retired district judge from Haryana, Pawan Kumar, along with three other members. The former judge said in the press statement that Mewat has become a “graveyard” for Dalits, and there is “no difference between Pakistan and Mewat”.
