When you live there, you need to learn to kiss ass. You will be in trouble if your opinion doesn’t align with the government. Keep your mouth shut. For example, you see an 80 years old lady, carrying a large basket of corn selling on the sidewalk. The weather is hot and she looks as if she would collapse anytime. After you see this scene and you might ask, “such a old lady, still working? Should the government take care of you?” I don’t know well but the regime only provides like $10 a month or something. If anyone knows better, please share.

@TonyLePM I don’t expect you to fight. It is for you and for the people still live there. America is good compared to Vietnam but it is not so good as you mentioned BLM, etc... I can live well in any society just like those who can live in the poorest countries because I can work and I find things that other people want. However, i care about being fair and how humanity move forward as a planet. I don’t have a good opinion for the society that doesn’t allow freedom of speech. In Vietnam, people are not allowed to express love of their country. For example, Vietnamese fishermen have hard time because they are regularly invaded and harassed by the Chinese regime. Vietnamese people are not allowed to protest against China. Things get worse.

@TonyLePM If you were one of those whose parents did not see a future in Vietnam for you, and thus left, I wonder how your parents feel about you living in Vietnam? I had a thought of traveling in Vietnam and stay there for a month or 2. Once I learned that the cruelty the Vietnamese regime treating the south Vietnamese soldiers, I changed my mind and if I do, it would be an insult to them who had fought for my freedom when I was in Vietnam. I solute to the South Vietnamese soldiers who fought the Viet Cong. You might not agree with me but I am sure your parents who ran away from Vietnam would agree with my idea.

Balanced Investing Are you concerned with the quality of water in Vietnam? To me the water is best in Japan. I think good water would set a difference in life span between living in a rich country and poor country.

The law in Vietnam is not so stable. The diplomatic relation between America and Vietnam is better compared to 10 years ago. Things can change a few years in the future. There is a little American government can do if your property is confiscated for some reason. Look at China, American government does very little when it comes to intellectual property doing business in China. Buying property is a long term commitment. If you don’t have Vietnamese citizenship, you can only lease the land. You can own the house you live. Max term of land lease is 100 years.

@paultaylor907 people should be able to earn a living. The government should not provide any welfare unless you are a handicap. Many handicap can work earn a descent living. It is up to the individual. As long as the mind is not handicap, you can do many things.

Ken, why do you want to help the Vietnamese regime? If you were one of them, viet cong, then there is not much I can say. However, if you were one the freedom fighter south Vietnamese descendants, then I must ask you, is your family proud of you, returning to Vietnam doing business?

Ngoc Hoang Thank you for your input. I would like to add that there were a lot of soldiers who killed themselves because they felt they let down the South or they rather die instead of living the humiliation of being captured by Viet Cong.

Ken, you are damn greedy. You just want to make money. Can you tell me how an investor fight against the Vietnamese regime when they breach a contract? The Vietnamese regime would put the lawyer in jail and suspend his license when that lawyer attempt to represent an investor . If you are an investor, especially the one who has invested in China, you would be more frustrated dealing with the Vietnamese regime compared to Chinese Communist regime.

I challenge you to help people who have lost their property in Vietnam because the government kicked them out of their own home. You can do live and document the whole process. It would not even last for an hour before the Vietnamese regime imprison you for life and no US ambassador could help you and I assume you are an American citizen. The Vietnamese regime doesn’t care. You know it too.

@kimbui6267 This lawyer is not the worst case scenario. The worst one is probably the doctors who extra organs from Falun Gong people in China. No money should be enough to do that. Look at China. It is the model for every country in the world. Globalism or Now world order is moving in. I live in hawaii and we have to wear stupid mask in the public. The state should make it as a choice.. it is for the ignorant, not for the bright. Look at South Dakota or Sweden, the death toll is only a third of California or New York. South Dakota has never had a lockdown. It does better than states with restrictions.
